Lydie-Bug Dollie with her Flower
Lydie is 20 inches tall, not including her antennas...Lydie is made of painted muslin and then given my technique, for a thyme-worn look. She has little bug antennas, made of chenille stems and rusty bells...Her eyes are hand painted and her nose is needle sculpted. Her lips are stitched with floss. I have blushed her cheeks too…Lydia has separate stitched on eyelids. Her arms are attached with buttons on each arm. Lydie has a painted bodice and little black buggie dots, made of felt and stitched in place. I then finished her bodice area off with, stitched on vintage-stlye trim...Lydia’s wings are made of painted muslin, lined with wire, so they are bendable and hinged in the back with a button. I have painted on the black dots on her wings, on both sides. She has nylon netting in between her body and her wings for whimsy...Lydie has been dressed with a red / green check skirt… Under her dress is more nylon netting for whimsy. Her little bug shoes are painted red. I then stitched tiny rusty bells in place...4 on each shoe...The daisy flower is 14 inches tall and the head of just the flower is about 5 inches in diameter. I have made it of painted muslin and stitched in place. The stem is a painted and antiqued twig and then I attached leafs with a rusty wire and bells.
